Word from numerous family sources say Cambodia is lobbing shells into Trat province down south.
Not confirmed to me.
The one short-lived exit border post for Cambodian workers has closed.
Thai military, police and vigillante citizens are giving Cambodians a major hard time.
No Cambodians feel safe on the streets.
My family working all over Trat province have all retreated
to my wife's sisters fortress home just outside Trat city. ( she is married to Thai trucking biz man so no chance the vigillates will get thru that gate)
Major Army biuld up on the outskirts of Tran - ready and waiting.
Major naval biuld up on the coast and on Koh Kood.
Military choppers and major Naval brass all over Koh Kood.
( K Kood has a small naval port - but more importantky has an excllently situated observation post oversseing all the disputed waters near the coast)
Reports of Naval encounters between the two navies overnight.
My source on Koh Kong island have not seen any RCN action (but that doesnt mean it is not happening)
The military that control the island are doing constant patrols of the entire west-facing side - in speedboats - looking for incursions.
Nb. The Thai, USA and Canadian navies are currently conducting long-planned joint excercises in that very part of the northern Gulf.
Oh... the capricious fortunes of war
Will Thailand try to rope the yanks into forming an "anti chinese client" alliance? >> and manouvering them into the Thai posturing. ??
Flock!! - i only just missed out on being smack dab in the middle of all this action which is right up this "no-mans-waters" kayaking busybody's alley.
- but i will keep squeezing my sources.
