Nicht unbedingt die wichtigste Info fuer Thailandliebhaber, aber die plebs, die manchmal auch andere Ziele im Auge hat, wird sich freuen. Es scheint, als ob nun dieses Drehkreuz wieder funktionieren kann. Vorsicht bei den Buchungswebseiten. Deren kombinierte Tickets mit "selber Gepaeck aufgeben" funktionieren so nicht. Also z.B. THY nach PNH gebucht auf der THY-Webseite mit Verbindung Silkair oder jetstar sollte klappen. Hingegen THY mit jetstar gebucht bei den deutschen Webseiten waere richtig bloed, da nich moeglich.

SINGAPORE: Singapore will gradually allow travellers to transit through Changi Airport from Jun 2, as it prepares to ease some COVID-19 restrictions and reopen its borders.
"Stringent measures" will be put in place to ensure that the passengers remain in designated facilities in the transit area and do not mix with other passengers at the airport, said the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) on Wednesday (May 20).

Airport staff will also be required to wear personal protective equipment when interacting with passengers.
Existing precautionary measures, such as safe distancing, temperature taking for passengers and staff, will continue to be enforced, said the authority.
Currently, foreign passengers are only allowed to transit through Singapore if they are on repatriation flights arranged by their governments.
The Ministry of Health had said on Tuesday that Singapore will gradually reopen its borders with safeguards in place, to allow Singaporeans to conduct essential activities abroad and for foreigners to enter and transit through the country.

Airlines should submit their proposals for transfer lanes through Changi Airport, said CAAS.
It added that the proposals will be evaluated taking into account aviation safety, public health considerations, as well as the health of passengers and air crew.
"This is part of Singapore’s strategy to gradually reopen air transport to meet the needs of our economy and our people, whilst ensuring sufficient safeguards for safe travel," said the aviation authority.

Hong Kong and Singapore airports will lift their bans on transit passengers from the start of June as part of the easing of coronavirus restrictions which have stunted the economy and decimated air travel.
The moves will be especially welcomed by Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines, which rely on their respective home airports as transfer hubs for connecting flights more than destinations in their own right.

Transit services at Hong Kong International Airport will "gradually resume" from June 1, city leader Carrie Lam confirmed at a press briefing earlier today.

"The epidemic has eased," she said. "We are resuming daily activities in society and economy step by step."

Hong Kong implemented a ban on all visitors to the city, and passengers in transit through Hong Kong International Airport, on March 24.

All arrivals at the airport are currently required to go to the nearby AsiaWorld Expo site for COVID-19 testing, before proceeding to their home for the mandatory 14 day quarantine period.

There's been no advice as to if this practice will continue, nor what restrictions might be imposed on passengers in transit at the airport itself, although wearing masks may be required.

Cathay Pacific, which has been hard-hit by the coronavirus pandemic, has since April operated to "a skeleton schedule" of barely a dozen destinations served by just a handful of flights per week.




However, the airline plans aims to put a little flesh onto those bones with a slow but steady rebuild of its international network beginning June 21.

This will see Sydney, London Heathrow, Los Angeles and Vancouver boosted to five flights per week. Melbourne is set for three flights per week, along with Amsterdam, Frankfurt, San Francisco, Mumbai and Delhi.

Cathay will also mount daily flights to Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Taipei, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City, while its Asia-focussed Cathay Dragon arm is set for a daily service to Beijing, Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur.

Travellers will once again be allowed to transit through Singapore's Changi Airport from June 2, although in the short term, Singapore stopovers will be very different to what travellers are accustomed to.

Instead of browsing the duty-free shops or kicking back in the airline lounge , transit passengers will "remain in designated facilities in the transit area and not mix with other passengers whilst at Changi Airport," said the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore in announcing the relaxed restrictions overnight.

Singapore's ban on transit passengers came into effect from Tuesday March 24, accompanied by a ban on short-term visitors to the island nation, after it recorded its first two deaths from Covid-19 complications.

Schön und gut dass die wieder Transit erlauben aber die meisten Länder sind noch zu für normale Reisende .

HKG erlaubt z.b noch keine Einreise und die die dort leben und einreisen müssen in die Quarantäne . Für SIN wird es ähnlich sein nehme ich mal an ....also macht das alles nicht viel Sinn und nur interessant für Leute die nun doch noch heim wollen weil sie irgendwo festsassen .

Biss da wieder normale Touristen im Transit sein werden wird noch etwas Zeit vergehen - leider . Ich freue mich aber dass die Grenzen innerhalb der EU bald alle wieder öffnen und wir reisen dürfen ohne dann in eine Quarantäne zu müssen . Hoffen wir mal dass wir das nicht bereuen werden weil es doch nun recht schnell geht .

Das wird schon sehr wichtig sein fuer jene, die in Laender wollen, zu den es kaum Direktfluege gibt. Also z.B. Phils oder Kambodscha. Daneben eroeffnen die Umsteigemoeglichkeiten auf dem Weg nach TH weitere Alternativen und halten hoffentlich die zu erwartenden Preissteigerungen etwas im Rahmen.
Klar, die Oeffnungen sind entscheidend, doch ohne entsprechende Flugverbindungen nutzen die uns auch recht wenig. Zur Zeit kommen die ersten Bausteine zusammen, hoffen wir auf die naechsten.
Vor zwei Wochen gab's als Transitflughaefen gerade noch Katar und Bahrein. Nun diese beiden und anscheinend auch sehr bald Dubai und Abu Dhabi, sprich Emirates und Etihad.

Ich find die Nachricht sehr wichtig und sehe es auch so wie @thaiguy. F mich könnte es sogar ein entscheidender Baustein sein, weil ich schon vor 8 Monaten mit SingapurAirlines von MUC nach BKK für den 29.07. gebucht habe...
Bin hin- und hergerissen unter welchen Umständen ich letztlich Spaß dran hätte, beobachte aber sehr genau die aktuelle Dynamik....

Das wäre super aber ich glaube eher dass die Phils das Land sind das als letztes wieder für normale Touristen öffnen wird .

Wir könnten ja jeder Zeit wieder auf die Phils reisen aber alleine diese 14 Tage Quarantäne werden wir uns niemals antun besonders wo man die in einem 5* Hotel in Manila absitzen darf aber ohne die Annehmlichkeiten die so ein Hotel bietet und um in einem billigeren Hotel 2 Wochen auszuharren das geht zwar für eine Nacht aber gleich 2 Wochen !! No Go !

Ausserdem sind in der Provinz die Leute mittlerweile sehr skeptisch gegenüber Reisenden die nach der Quarantäne ankommen . Ich habe da einen Bericht gelesen über eine Polizistin aus Cebu die nach Negros fuhr auf Familienbesuch ,dort dann zu 2 Wochen Quarantäne verdonnert wurde und als die dann vorbei war haben alle ihre Freunde trotzdem einen grossen Bogen um sie gemacht .

Nein ,die Philippinen werden leider wohl etwas länger brauchen biss sie wieder "Normal" sein werden fürchte ich und ich werde wohl biss Ende 2021 warten um was zu planen . Aber Portugal wird uns entschädigen ,da bin ich mir sicher

Ja ich weiss , die essen sehr reichhaltig und fettig . Aber sehr nette Menschen , ideal für ein Jahr mal die Philippinen von ausserhalb zu verfolgen und wer weiss ? Vielleicht bleiben wir ja da , meine Frau hat dieses Vagabunden Leben satt .

Im Moment habe ich keine Meinung zu den Perspektiven. Was allein zaehlt sind einigermassen belastbare Infos. Darum geht's mir. Wir haben nun mindestens 4, wenn nicht 6, Gesellschaften, die die Region mit Umsteigen bedienen. Nehmen wir noch die Koreaner hinzu, Asiana und Korean Airl., dann sieht's noch ein wenig besser aus.
Die Visamisere koennen wir gerne in einem entsprechenden thread behandeln.
Einen Quarantaene-thread zu TH mit Hotelinfos wurde leider geschlossen. Leider - weil ich nun noch ein paar weitere Details ausgegraben habe, die nun keine 'Unterkunft' finden.

Ja klar, aber die Muellkippe will ich nun wirklich vermeiden. Ich hatte dort gepostet und den thread nach einer ruhigen Phase durch einen Beitrag aktiviert. Das Ding explodierte innerhalb von wenigen Tagen und wurde dann auf den Misthaufen verfrachtet. Das ist eine ziemlich sinnfreie Diskussion dort und eher etwas fuer hirnlose Schwaetzer. Die paar wichtigen Infos versinken dort in Seiten von Einzelern.

Hatte ich auch gesehen und im Bereich Asien eingestellt. Domestic ist in VN wieder der Baer am tanzen. Es gibt auch zahlreiche interessante internationale Ankuenfte. Allerdings ist mir nicht klar, ob dies nun echte Passierfluege sind oder ob es sich um Fracht- oder Repatrierungsfluege handelt. Alles nicht so einfach.

Hier ein saure Gurke. Transit in Singapur mit Singapore Airlines nur INNERHALB des Singapore Airlines network. Mit code share ist da anscheinend nicht viel los. Weil es die SIA Webseite ist, steht dort natuerlich nichts zu den anderen Airlines. Also mal schaun.

Für Oktober und November ist geplant 11 Prozent des Flugverkehrs vor Corona bei Singapore Airlines wiederzubeleben. Da sind dann wieder einige Städte in Südostasien, Europa und auch im den Rest der Welt mehr dabei. Bleibt aber weiterhin dabei, dass nur Fluggesellschaften aus dem Singapore Airlines Netzwerk dazuzählen.
